Beautiful stained glass, great organ and so much more
Perfect place to continue your spiritual journey. We were just visiting from Channing Memorial Church in Newport, RI. We would go back in a heartbeat. Music including jazz ensemble playing traditional spiritual, great choir, all done tastefully with reverence. What's not to like😁🙏?!
I went to their holiday market fair and got some great deals 🙌
The pastor is amazing, it's like a Ted Talk every Sunday. The music/choir/jazz Sundays are wonderful. Congregation is great too, but make sure you go to coffee hour after the service to get to know people-- it can take awhile as with any new place you go. They have great social justice programs and ways to get involved with making the world a better place and this is also how you'll really get to know your fellow congregants. I feel such a stronger sense of community now that I belong here!
I am truly thankful for this church.
I attended one Sunday morning, while on business in Brooklyn, and my experience was rather magical - though not for the reasons one might expect. Yes, the service was great, with soulful music and production; and, the church itself was equally notable, being a majestic Gothic structure that felt simultaneously timeless and uplifting. However, the service's message was, for me, the highlight.
It was interesting, this particular Sunday's message. Like the rest of the service, the message was overtly impressive, being meaningful, sincere, and well-delivered. But, it was especially important to me personally, for it concerned exactly what I'd been dealing with in the preceding days, to the letter - bringing the precise insight I needed, as it so happens. Every bit a case of "From God's lips to my ears," you could say. (And, an interesting footnote: I'd felt distinctly led to visit this church specifically, out of the dozens in Brooklyn ...)
My deepest thanks to all who keep this operation going. Please, continue this critical work.
Sincerely,
Mr. Chris St Paul
