Great music, amazing food, great waiters. They're super friendly, and some are even really hilarious 😂 every time I go in there, i always bring someone new because it's really amazing. Their bbq is amazing, but the hotpot is top-tier.
Lorenzo did an amazing job accommodating us and making us like feel we mattered. A+ service from him
Soup bases are good but be careful to not burn your food or you'll end up with a burned piece at the bottom of your pot (this was on me for letting it boil without stirring)!
Selections are great and ice cream is free at the end too!
For first timers and the uninitiated, try their KPOT Sauce which is a solid start for anyone getting into Hotpot
My personal favorite is mixing Sacha Sauce, Peanut Sauce, Sesame Paste, A small bit of Black Vinegar, and Egg Yolks (without the whites). The egg yolks do a great job at emulsifying your sauce into a more thicker paste while mellowing out the saltier tones of the Sacha Sauce
The last few times I was in Citipoint, I noticed Kpot opened across the street. We finally made it for lunch. I've never had all you can eat Korean hot pot, only Chinese hot pot which I love.
The cool thing about it being Korean is the banchan and appetizer bar in addition to all the condiments. We got the Korean seafood soup base which already had seafood in it. The Chinese soup bases that I've had are just soup. The other option is having Korean BBQ. You can have BOTH for a $5.00 surcharge!
The price was very reasonable at $20.99 for the weekday lunch although you have more premium meat options at $30.99 for dinner which is also the price during the day on the weekends.
We feasted. They dissuade you from wasting food by threatening a waste fee if you order and leave a lot uneaten.
We ate it all!
This is not upscale Korean food but it certainly hits the spot and you get well fed.
Smoky atmosphere. Came out reeking of BBQ. But oh! THE FOOD!!!! Carnivores must show up. Not for the faint hearted. Tables can do both Korean BBQ and Chinese Hot Pot for $5 extra per person in the party. Can accommodate large parties but come early - there can be a long wait. Lack of parking nearby, but can be accessible via public transportation in Downtown Brooklyn (and not Flushing or 33rd Street!!!)
This experience left me happy and full. The sauce bar offered a delightful array of varied options as well as directions to DIY sauces. The staff were extremely helpful and happy to advise someone unfamiliar with the format. The food was delicious and the portions goldilocks sized. The restrooms clean, spacious and well lit. The staff was mostly masked, efficient, and not intrusive. Parking is only really what's on the street, but it's downtown Brooklyn, and if you're driving there, you already have parking sorted. The price tag was a bargain. Appreciate this gem for as long as it is here; you'll have a treasured memory in exchange.
