This is one of those parks that looks amazing all year around. I came here about 3 weeks before the fall foliage and then on the peak of the fall foliage. On the first time, I came across a hidden trail that seems that many people do not know about on the Northeast side of the park with more ruins and graffiti art, and it was lonely compared to the graffiti building next to the museum and parking lot. This hidden trail goes towards Acres Way.

Welwyn preserve was a great location!
It was a little confusing to find because Google Maps gave us a different address/location. We did a search en route on Google and that gave us the correct address.
Once we arrived, there was a narrow road through a gate that's unmarked as to where you should park. The road deadends at a beautiful building and it's a short walk to the dirt trails which meander through the lush greenery and past a pond.
You can choose the paved road down to the beach if you dont want to hike.
If you choose the trails remember that they aren't marked, so keep track of your direction.
We took the trails but we got turned around. Once we got our bearings, we back tracked and went to the beach to catch sunset. It was beautiful and chilly!
After our visit to the beach we came back up on the paved road because it was dark.
Make sure you know before you go so you're prepared for the weather.
    Have fun!

One of the prettiest nature preserves around lots of interesting things to look at throughout your hike. Whether it's walking over a little wooden bridge, or going through a descending Trail to get to the beach, there's also a meadow, a Children's Garden and some really interesting graffiti in the old greenhouses.

Amazing hike! Very old and tall trees in the nature. Hike leads to a super dope greenhouse with graffiti and art works. Keep going for a private beach. Perfect place for a trip ????
