Excel Urgent Care of Wantagh, NY

Walked in at 12:15 and they couldn’t see me, so made a 2:00 appt. Got there 5 mins prior and still waited an hour to be seen. What was the point of having an appointment? I could’ve gotten quicker results if i had just walked in at 3:00 as there was only one person waiting. Not happy.

I go to this urgent care when I can’t get an appointment in a timely manner from my primary doctor. Entire staff is awesome, from the front desk to the X-ray technician to the PA and doctors. They are the most knowledgeable and thorough staff. Highly recommend.

John the PA treated my dad who turned out to be having a heart attack. He put him in an ambulance and thankfully my dad is ok. The next day John called me to check in on how my dad was doing and I thought that was so thoughtful and not something I would ever expect from an urgent care. I am forever grateful to John for saving my dads life.

I dropped a kitchen knife on my foot which bled profusely. The choice between going to the hospital emergency room or excel urgent care was a no brainer. I was treated almost immediately by the attending PA who examined, cleaned and glued the wound closed. He also administered a tetanus shot as a precaution and sent me on my way. I was in and out in less than half an hour. Ive visited this facility on several occasions throughout the last several years for various ailment treatments and have always been treated quixkly and professionally. If i had gone to a hospital emergency room, id still be waiting for care. I highly recommend this facility!
