The architecture of this “salt shed” drew me to Google maps to look it up! Brutalist art museum’s eat your heart out!
Impacts my daily life in more ways I can describe, the most important thing when you don’t have it.
Would recommend.
A sight to behold! The Spring Street Salt Shed is like no other municipal structure in all of New York City. It is design competition worthy, and free to admire. The simplistic complexity of the design can only be understood by a wandering pedestrian, not a northbound vehicle on West Street. My only gripe is the broken sidewalk spotlights, The fluid shadow effect on the shed is strikingly disrupted.
Cool Architecture
We like the shape of it but wish it had a sign to say what it was!
