Found this place while searching upstate NY for a Onewheel Retailer. Called and spoke with gentleman named Brent who informed me they had a the Pint I wanted.
2 hours later I'm there and had just intended on buying the Onewheel and being on my way. Instead what happened is this guy talked to me about the product. He explained the boards to me and even let me test ride both models (Pint & XR). He taught me a few lesson and just made it a "extra radical" experience. Everyone there made me feel so comfortable and I didn't expect that.
Long story short, I fell in love with the place and the people. Totally stoked about coming back when it's time to get my XR, and when it's time to get my Kayak on! See you guys again soon!!

I had such a wonderful experience today renting a kayak from Canoe and Kayak Rentals. Brent and his family are truly lovely, and the professionalism, knowledge, special touches, and inventory were better than any experience I have had in major cities.

This is a family-run and owned business in the beautiful small town of Portlandsville. I appreciated the care that they took to get me situated, review the features of the kayak, and explain the route options from their location.

All amenities needed (kayak, life jacket, and paddle) were included in the very affordable price, and Brent took the time to make sure I understood timing of my route and to check to make sure I took water with me - those lovely special touches and kindness that you don't find many places. The trip was wonderful and scenic kayaking north on the Susquehanna- I went alone, threw on some classical music, and took in the beauty of the area.

I also appreciated the history of the river and area that Brent provided before I pushed off - a wonderful addition to the already full experience (so generous again for the $35 I paid for a 4 hour kayak trip).

Brent is approachable, enthusiastic about what he does, has a history in watershed restoration, and has an enviable store inventory. Had such a great conversation with him before and after the ride as well. Please go book your next adventure or purchase your next kayak from this awesome business! Brent and his crew are very knowledgeable and super friendly to work with. I took my 5 yr. old grandson kayaking in a tandem. Hunter's 1st time and he thought it was awesome. We saw some wildlife and enjoyed the relaxing paddle up the river. I highly recommend it , to spend some quality time with your kids.

The staff there was so kind, accommodating, educational this is our first time kayaking with our two little toddlers three and four years old we took two single kayaks with them one in each lap they did phenomenal the staff made sure they felt safe and made it very exciting for them I called ahead and they were very excellent on the phone they took the time speaking with me telling me details about the location and how calm the waters were etc we were greeted with a very warm welcome while there and it was a very serene environment it was very peaceful it was a ton of fun and if I ever visiting Cooper's Town New York again we will definitely return thank you guys for making our special family trip that much more memorable by even taking photos of us since we really are able to get us all in one shot!

Highly recommend Brent for all your kayak / canoe / SUP needs. He took the time to explain to us the difference between various kayaks, paddles, and PFDs to make sure we bought the right ones for our needs. Our purchase opened up a whole new world for us. We're very happy with the service we received and we're definitely customers for life. If you're thinking about hitting the water, call Brent!
