This center is one of the great family outdoor spots in Staten Island. From exhibits in the main building to the different size trails, its a great great family activity spot. Their events are also worth following, informative and useful.
Also, I spotted a deer in my last trail here. It was cool to see them in their natural environment.
This is a beautiful spot to go on a hike, or bring the kids for a little DIY projects. They do have an itinerary buy I like to just stop in randomly with my daughter and see what they have going on. Last time we did a spontaneous visit and we had a great time finger painting and learning about horses (a ranger had brought a horse there that day). Turns out my daughters favorite animal is a horse. That day couldn't of gone any better planned.
We had my daughter's wedding at the Greenbelt Nature Center. It was truly an unique setting. The staff was helpful and caring throughout the whole process from planning to clean up. Everyone was blown away by how the space was utilized and just how beautiful everything came together. I look forward to hosting another party there.
