I saw on the wine list an Orange/ Skin contact wine.

When I asked the server about the profile before even looking on the phone for it, she said: it was a medium-body white infused with Orange Peel, and I was astonished.

I explained that skin contact means that during fermentation, the wine spends some time on skin contact with the grapes. So therefore, from grapes skin contact is where the orange color or tones on the wine comes from, not that it was orange peel infused, and she re-stated that she was sure it was orange peel infused and continued, "you can even taste it on the wine" assured me that her manager has told her so.

I didn't even want to keep the discussion going because sometimes is not the server's responsibility to know about these tasting profiles, but instead is the duty of the Sommelier or Wine and Beverages Director. However, the service and hospitality were top-notch despite the incorrect information I received.
Instead, I ordered the 6oz pour of this Amber Wine, a blend of Croatian native grapes and Pinot Grigio.

I ordered - 6 oz por of Pinot Noir from Monterey, CA, for my guest.

We ordered The crispy artichokes, a great appetizer, the biggest surprise of the night, and the Cod Croquettes that were my favorites.

I also ordered the Brussel Sprouts, Gnocchi with shrimp that was very oily and had only three shrimps.
A New York Strip Steak for my partner with fries, but the fries looked over-fried. The New York Strip Steak was a good size portion and thick but with a sauce on top, kind of a bit different gravy.

Hospitality was the staple of the night. They accommodated many families during the night, and the ambiance was excellent.

When you search for the place, it is described as tapas, which is slightly misleading. It absolutely features small plates, and you can even get tacos, but the eclectic mix in the menu, with some unique Croatian dishes is not to be missed. The care and devotion shown is evident in each dish, the care shown by the staff, and the owner himself taking time to chat with us and make recommendations. This is one place not to be missed! Absolutely try the tomato soup, the Ćevapi (skinless sausage, onion, and pita), and the Burek (Croatian spinach and cheese pie).

Second time here. First was a date night with hubby and this time was a long overdue ladies night with friends I hadn't seen in over 2 years. ViNoTEKA 46 is a winner all around. Love their menu of small plates to share with your group, or pick what you like and keep it for yourself. :) The service both times was superb - this time the owner was here and incredibly gracious and accommodating - checked in on us throughout the night to be sure everything was going well. Really loved the food and drinks once again. They have a rather creative wine list that you can opt to do 3 ounce pours (vs a 6 oz full glass) to build-your-own wine tasting, which is so much fun. (Did this the first time I went with hubby.) This time there was a live band playing classic and 80s hits, and the noise level was perfect - not too loud (we could hear each other talk and have a conversation) and not too quiet - perfect background music to set the scene for the evening. The place started to fill up around 7:30 or so. Glad we got there early and got our pick of seating - which is all comfortable, by the way. Nice bar menu, and a few fun cocktails that I'll need to take a more serious look at next time we go. This time was a wine night. Loved every minute and will definitely be back! Love the atmosphere here.

Lovely tapas. We had the barbecue ribs, shrimp pesto gnocchi, fig and prosciutto flatbread, cauliflower pizza, pulled pork sliders, fried zucchini and short rib tacos.

Saw that there was an outdoor eating option where each table was isolated in its own structure with a door to enter. We decided to stop by and were blown away! The food was delicious and the service was really nice. We came during restaurant week and enjoyed everything we had. Would definitely come again.
