The Cake Don

Candlelighters New York City had our annual Valentines party this past weekend. The party was for children fighting cancer and I can’t tell you how appreciated the beautiful cake was. It made the kids so happy. We put candles on the cake and had everybody who had a birthday this year or past year come up and blow out the candles. Of course, it was at all the kids, and everyone sang happy birthday to them.
Thank you for brightening their lives as they fight for another birthday.

I recently celebrated my birthday with a custom cake from “The Cake Don” . I was so excited with the outcome of our cake. Don is so talented and will truly bring any vision of yours to life! He created a masterpiece based just from my inspiration. Not to mention the cake, itself, was DELICIOUS! Several fabulous options of fillings and frostings to pair and choose from. I appreciated the teams communication prior to the big day as well as a seamless delivery to the venue. Thanks again for making my celebration extra special. Highly recommend treating yourself or loved ones to a custom Cake Don creation!!

I'll never go anywhere else! Cake Don blows every other cake and cupcake shop on LI out of the water. I'll welcome any stomach aches I get from eating too much cake from this plaxe! I started coming here at the beginning of 2022 and haven't stopped. They even saved the day when my usual baker wasn't able to make my birthday cake request. I asked Cake Don's with short notice and they provided an EXTRAORDINARY cake. Us and our guests absolutely loved it! A special thanks to Terri for taking such great care of me during my cake order/delivery.

An absolute master of cakes! My party was outdoors, but when it was time for cake, we set up inside. I told my guests to come in and see the cake, but they all looked around saying, “ok, where is it?”. It was right in front of them. The “books” looked so real, no one knew they were the cake. There literally was a line of people to take pictures of it. The best part was that the cake tasted as good as it looked. I was impressed; my guests were impressed. I haven’t met The Cake Don, but I’ll kiss your ring anytime, LOL. Seriously, I was so happy. Thank you!

My Sweet Mother’s only wish for her 95th Birthday was to have her family with her. So hard to think of the most special gift for a 95 year old whose diet can contain only the slightest salt. I called Cake Don and spoke to Christine. I mentioned that my Mom always reflects on a cake my Father bought for her birthday more than 60 years ago. How she thought it was the most Beautiful cake she had ever seen. It was a “girly cake with pink flowers”. We had no photos or anything to reference than those words. Cake Don made this most Beautiful and Delicious cake and it was the center of our celebration. Christine worked so lovingly with me on the details, adding a Yellow Rose as a symbol my Mom would adore. I was so surprised that Don, himself, went out of his way to deliver the cake to me and was so personable. I can’t say enough about this wonderful experience. I had read reviews of other specialty cake makers in a 30 mile radius. Spoke with a few who seemed to put their ego before their customer.
Granted a 95 year old small gathering as opposed to a large, younger event is understandable. But for a weekday an order is an order. Cake Don now has us for any events we have in the future and will head down to get his cupcakes just for fun.
