(October 29, 2018, 9:51 am)I find Stu Cohen to be a very service-oriented agency. I'm the treasurer of my condo homeowners' association and when I need paperwork for a lender financing a unit purchase or a unit owner refinancing, usually one email to the broker is all it takes. Stu also sends a couple of bottles of wine every year as a thank you, which of course is totally unnecessary. (I don't even drink wine, but my wife does.) He also sends a newsletter via email with various tips about insurance and taking care of a building. I was initially dubious about using a broker not based in NYC (I still don't know where Somers, NY, is) but that hasn't been an issue at all. Initially, I switched to Stu Cohen because he found a much lower rate for our building. When the rate went up several years in a row, I complained and he found another insurer with a much lower rate, saving us about 25% on our premium. And the new insurer offered autopay on a monthly basis, which is so much better than paying once a year -- or paying interest, which we did before I became treasurer.
