Coach Brit Field Hockey

Coach Brit has coached both of my girls in field hockey and beyond. She is a smart, strong, funny and caring person. As a coach she expects each player to contribute their 100%, whatever that is. She wants every athlete to play to their absolute fullest potential and I love that as a parent, because every player is different. On the field she expects every athlete to be present and work hard. Off the field her coaching continues and I cannot say enough about her ability and desire to connect with her players. As a mother of three teenage athletes, and have come in contact with countless coaches. I can say with confidence that Brittany Paulus is the most talented coach I have ever met.

Coach Brit possesses great knowledge in all things related to field hockey. However, what sets her apart as a coach, is her passion and ability to connect with each and every athlete. Brit assesses each child as an athlete and as a person and tailors instruction to each girl's particular needs.

Brit coaches from a place of positivity rather than a deficit model that many employ. Her enthusiasm is contagious and girls just love being around Coach Brit. It is clear that Brit cares deeply about her athletes and their personal growth.

My own daughter was transformed by Coach Brit - from an athlete with beginning skills and low confidence to a fighter with section 1 accolades. Coach Brit built my daughter’s field hockey skills, but more importantly, Brit built her confidence and self image as an athlete. Coach Brit has made a lasting, positive impact on my daughter.

I have had the pleasure of watching Coach Brit go from a dedicated student-athlete to the passionate coach she is today. There are many qualities that make an individual a positive role model for young people, Brit embodies so many of those traits. However, none of those traits are what make Coach Brit great at what she does. I have only been playing field hockey for a few years, but wouldn’t have as much skill as I do now without Brit. She finds a great balance between teaching and having fun. I always find myself looking forward to the days I get to work with Brit because it’s always a fun time. She has helped me develop as a player and a person, teaching me hard work, determination, and to never give up.

Coach Brit has been an incredible coach for my daughter since she started playing field hockey last year. She is amazing at teaching basic and complex skills to all level of players. She instills fun, confidence and healthy competition while encouraging them to try their hardest and do their best. Brit is direct, honest and teaches the girls to bring a strong work ethic to each practice. She’s a great role model and someone the girls look up to.
