I had been working with Ellen for a little over a year before I saw her for help with my second child. Being on the other side of the proverbial exam table showed me how truly skilled Ellen is— not just with her professional knowledge but also, especially, with her sensitivity, intuition, and compassion. She was able to meet me exactly where I was and helped me work through the difficult and beautiful breastfeeding journey. As a pediatrician and osteopath, it was challenging to experience problems that I could not solve— in my own body and my own son. But Ellen gently supported and guided us in just the right way, and so gracefully reminded me, “sometimes you just have to be a mom.” I trust Ellen's guidance with all my heart and would recommend her to any mother-baby dyad!

Dr. Chetwynd completely saved our breastfeeding journey. I took a breastfeeding class before my son was born but was not expecting all of the challenges that made breastfeeding difficult for us. He wouldn't latch and when he did it was incredibly painful. I spent 12 hours with other lactation consultants, I joined a breastfeeding support group, I read everything I could get my hands on about breastfeeding and nothing helped. The pain became so bad that I switched to exclusive pumping instead. Then I found Dr. Chetwynd when my son was around 12 weeks, I sent her an email asking if it was too late for us and explaining all of the the health and latching issues we had struggled with. Within 5 sessions, we were completely off bottles and breastfeeding without pain. I am soo incredibly grateful for her and only wish we had found her sooner in our journey!

Ellen is the best - we were struggling with a very fussy baby who was consistently spitting up large amounts after breastfeeding and seemed in perpetual gastric distress. I wasn't sure it was even a breastfeeding related issue, but after just one visit with Ellen, it's like we have a different baby! She was able to diagnose the feeding issue within minutes. She also showed us some magic ways to hold the baby to ease tummy troubles. Don't delay your visit - Ellen can help!

I have worked with Ellen professionally for years, so when I had significant nursing challenges with my own baby, I turned to her. Even after a tongue tie release and skilled bodywork, things were not going well. With Ellen's guidance we went from painful nursing and barely transferring milk to pain-free, exclusive breastfeeding over the course of a few visits. AND...this was all done 100% virtually as we no longer lived in the same state. I don't hesitate to recommend her to friends or to refer my own patients to her for more help, especially because in addition to her clinical expertise, she is so gentle, calm, and reassuring. We love Ellen!

I was honestly getting ready to end my breastfeeding journey, as our nursing sessions were marathons every other hour. Within 10 minutes, Ellen had provided 2 strategies that led to our best nursing session ever! She also gave me some ideas to help loosen baby up - I hadn’t realized how tight she was. I’m so thankful we went and I’m hoping this leads to a great nursing experience for both my daughter and me.
