Granville County Veterans Services

AJ was very helpful in getting me and my mother information to help us make informed decisions about my father’s care. He was extremely pleasant and showed great interest and cared about what our needs were. I have shared our experience with a lot of other Granville County veterans and their families.

AJ walked me through the entire process of applying for my
VA survivor benefits. The process can be overwhelming, especially since the VA paperwork is repetitive and bit behind the times. AJ was upbeat and thorough. I would still be mired in the process without his help and knowledge of the system. AJ is a valuable asset to the county and a great resource for vets and survivors.

A.J. has gone above and beyond for me and my father! I'm active duty stationed in WA state and my father is a veteran whose health has been in decline the past couple of years and needs to be placed in a facility where he can receive 24hr care. Not being local It's been difficult at times trying to make sure my father gets the care he needs, but A.J. has been very flexible with meetings and even made house calls when my father couldn't leave his bed. A.J. is very knowledgeable on the VA systems and even other systems and programs outside the VA that could be of benefit to veterans. Whenever I don't know where to start to get what my father needs, A.J. always knows who to call. It has been reassuring to my father to know there are people who genuinely care for our veterans, and being active duty myself it gives me peace of mind for my future.

Going through the process of dealing with the VA, I reached out to the VSO office for assistance. I had the pleasure to meet and work with AJ. At every turn he far exceeded my expectations and has followed through to bridge the gap between me and the VA. His kindness, courtesy and professionalism is impeccable. He took the time to not only assist me with paperwork but call the VA, stay on the line to get an understanding of what was needed. He’s an asset to veterans that are stuck dealing with a difficult system. We’re blessed to have him on our side.

I can't say enough positive things about AJ with the Granville County Veterans Services. I'm a local business owner in Oxford and was working with a new to the area Veteran that was moving across the state. In his travels the position was dissolved just 3 days before he was set to start within the new company he was moving for. My client was set to close on his new home and without a job, his family was stuck. I called AJ after hearing about some of the benefits they offer to our local Veterans. AJ returned my call after a very brief message with not only info about some of the opportunities in our area but he had already sent an email to a local sheriff department who asked that my client call him that day. My client interviewed for the position the very next day and I'm happy to say that he was extended a job offer. My client, and myself were lost without the help of Granville County Veterans Services and especially the help form AJ.
