We called on Thursday afternoon with a party of 6 asking to stay for shabbos as our other plans didn't work out. Rabbi and Mrs. plotkin were more than happy to have us, even at the late hour. The accommodations were very nice, the food amazing and the experience truly unforgettable. Truly an unbelievable family who is doing great chessed. May they be blessed.
Here's a a story for you: I was traveling home to New York the day before Thanksgiving. The airline informed me that the flight would be delayed for another seven hours. There's no real place to eat in Greensboro Airport, so I called the Chabad. As soon as I explained the situation, Rabbi Plotkin immediately says, "I'm on my way," and hangs up. Not even 10 minutes pass by and I get another phone call from the Rabbi. "I'm in front of TSA security." I walk out of the terminal, and to my amazement and joy, I see the Rabbi holding a takeout box filled with home cooked chicken, salad, and mashed potatoes along with a container of couscous. It doesn't end there. The flight wound up getting cancelled (both that night and the following morning). When Rabbi Plotkin found out, he personally cooked me a Thanksgiving meal and even offered that I spend the weekend there because of Shabbat. There are no bounds to his kindness. Definelty call or visit if you're ever in town.
Chabad center of greensboro is warm and inviting. a user friendly minyan on shabbos morning and the rabbi includes everyone in the service. fantastic spread at the kiddush and overall the food was abundant and spectacular. the Rabbi and his wife's dedication to the community is inspiring. after a hectic Friday of cleaning up and saying fairwell to the summer camp and campers they did not miss a beat, having guests over that Friday night to a sit down 4 course dinner. welcoming guests like they were royalty with a lavish set table and abundance of shabbat candles. engaging conversation, heartfelt lchaims, and meaningful messages to take home. Great Chabad Center!
Great!
Rabbi Plotkin is funny, entertaining, and very knowledgable.
The rebitzin, Hindy, is an amazing cook. She is warm and friendly
and you never feel out of place even if you're not a very religious
Jew. Very welcoming!
