I started losing my hair in my early 20’s. For years I wore my hair short and tried to ignore the fact my hair was getting thinner and thinner. I tried many different products but the inevitable was going to happen. Approaching my 30th birthday I decided to do something for myself and I reached out to Dr. Koher for some help. Dr. Koher and his staff were super informative. They answered all my questions and educated me on the best treatment/solution for my personal hair loss. They even offer other solutions besides surgery to help your hair grow back and its worth checking out. I waited a longtime and did my research before I made the move. I scheduled my surgery and this was my experience…
During surgery: Now, like many of you reading this review, the word surgery didn’t sit easy with me. That was definitely the determining factor that I had to overcome. Please know that this is indeed a surgery. In a nutshell: Dr. Koher and is team of professionals cut a strip of skin from the back of your head, sew it up, dissect the hair follicles out of that sample, make small incisions all over your head, and implant thousands of hair follicles to grow.
No worries, besides some pressure at times, I didn’t feel a thing during the surgery! A local anesthetic is used and you are completely alert and oriented. You can take medication to help you relax if you wish to do so.
Dr. Koher and staff were so kind and accommodating. I was in the office all day, they provided me with drinks and food and made me feel right at home. They asked me how I was feeling throughout the process and made the atmosphere laidback and relaxing. They explained every step to me and answered any questions I had during the surgery.
After surgery: Expect some swelling. You will need to take about 4 days off work. The anesthesia that was used made my forehead big for a couple of days. (this is normal) The healing process isn’t that bad. You will have scabs on your head for a few weeks but they heal and your scalp just looks red until the hair starts to grow in. (this will take about 6 months, I noticed the biggest change 9 months after)
Expectations: I had high expectations for this procedure. It has been over a year since my surgery and I can honestly say that I am very happy with my results. Dr. Koher was upfront and advised me that I may have to have another transplant to achieve the amount of hair I desire. It’s a HUGE difference! My hairline is natural and everyone I have come in contact with has noticed something is different.
Cost vs. results: Cost is determined by the amount of hair you need. Please note that this procedure is an investment, an investment in yourself. They offer financing options with high interest rates. I thought financing hair was a little ridiculous so I used some of my savings and paid with cash. (At least they have that option) If you don’t have the cash, I would recommend getting a personal loan with a lower interest rate. Self-esteem is important and the amount I paid was worth every penny for the confidence this procedure has given me. I am a solid 7 on a scale of 1 to 10 with my results.

My best advice is to do your own research and do what’s right for you. This procedure is life changing and I would recommend Dr. Koher and his team to anyone. Dr Koher and his staff are very amazing, it is obvious they have worked together for a long time. I have had my last 2 surgeries with Dr Koher, and could not be MORE pleased. I wish I had known about him in my 20's, instead of wasting my money on other doctors/clinics. I give an A+ on his "craftsmanship" of reforming the hairline and re-building of the temporal points.
