  I highly recommend Perri May. My teenage daughter has worked weekly with her for the past four years. Perri’s ability to navigate high conflict is second to none. She has an amazing ability to read difficult situations and get to the root of the problem. She balances creating an open and relaxed environment with a no nonsense approach that allows root problems to be exposed, uprooted and healed. Her training is the backbone of her interventions in therapy decision making. As a LMFT and a Parent Coordinator, she knew how to apply her training to our unique high conflict situation. Perri IS a client advocate! I watched, first hand, as she navigated my daughter’s long standing situation and NEVER wavered in putting her expert opinion into action for my daughter’s best interest. Where many therapists would cower at the prospect of being summoned to court, she stood up as my daughter’s advocate no matter what it took to support her. Her expertise was evident when a judge deemed Perri an expert and gave her “sole” decision making rights concerning whether my daughter should continue weekend visits with her father in his judgement order. My daughter is now thriving and Perri’s roll in that has been invaluable. Through the years of working with her, her office reflected fair and standard billing practices. She and her billing department worked hard to utilize insurance to minimize any out of pocket expenses. Perri’s expertise in her field, knowledge and approach to building relationships with her clients, strong listening ear and keen sense make her an ideal fit for whomever walks through her door.

  Hi Jamie, thank you for your review. I apologize for my delayed response as I was just recently made aware of it.
  
  When working with families, many different (and sometimes conflicting) personalities are brought to the table. There are many moving parts not in the exclusive control of any one person. In addition, every therapist is not for every person, and every person is not for every therapist.
  
  It is unfortunate that we were not a good fit and that you felt compelled to lodge a complaint against me with the North Carolina Marriage and Family Therapy Board; however, for any prospective clients who may read your review, I believe it is important to note that your complaint was dismissed without further investigation or incident.
  
  I wish you well in finding a new provider who better suits your needs.
