Dave's Domestic Hedgehogs

Wow okay this is going to be a very long review so let me start with the most important things:

1. This is a lovely place to buy a new hedgehog baby! 10/10 would recommend.

2. Dave and his wife are super sweet people and you can tell they genuinely care about their hedgehogs and customers ❤ they socialize their babies so they're use to humans plus dave isn't gonna try to up-sell you with things you don't need.

3. Dave is super fast at replying (to both emails, calls, & texts). He'll stay in touch with you during the wait list period and answer any questions you might have.

Okay now time for the absolute heart wrenching portion of this review:

A few days before everyone on the 2020 Christmas Waiting List was supposed to start picking up they're babies I received a call from Dave. This call was to inform me that in the middle of the night they're entire garage/barn that housed the hedgehogs, all the supplies for sale, and even daves personal pet ferrets had burn down to the ground. Dave tried everything in his power to save his babies and stop the fire but many hedgie lives were lost. I was in absolute shock of course. I offered to let him keep my $50 waiting list fee (that would usually go towards your final total) but he refused. He thanked me for being understanding and told me he had to make this same heart breaking call to 20+ other people. He sounded so hurt and I cant imagine how he and his wife have been feeling through this time.

I cried so much that I gave myself a migraine. I mourned the loss of not only my hedgehog but every other hedgehog there. I know everyone else on that waiting list felt my pain too.

When I woke up from my post-cry nap I read the email Dave had sent out once again detailing the situation and the steps he was taking to get everyone their money back. However, in the email he said that the first 10 people on the waiting list would still be able to get a hedgehog because he kept 10 babies (too small to be with the others) in his house.

My heart freaked out because although Dave had called me earlier that day I was actually number 10 on the list! I quickly sent him an email to see if their had been a mistake and he informed me that I WAS able to get one!!! I've never felt so happy in my life!

Then a few days later (yesterday in fact) I drove 2 hours (100% worth it) to Hillsborough to get my new baby. When I pulled up to his house and saw the burnt remains of his barn it made everything so real. But Dave greeted me with a cheerful "Hello" and led me and my husband into his house (his new base of operations).

Dave was just as nice in person as he was over the phone. I fell in love with the first hedgehog he put into my hands and now im home with my new baby (I named him Vinny on the way home)

Bought my first hedgehog there. Dave was very knowledgeable about how to treat them, feed, and take care of them. He is a breeder of 6 yrs. I would recommend him to anyone.

Very nice husband and wife breeders. Very knowledgeable about animals. Also very kind people. I recently purchased a hedgehog and starter kit with care instructions ❤️

Dave was very kind and flexible when I scheduled to pick up a cage while planning for a sweet baby in a week or so! Of course when I saw his sweet babies, I had to go ahead and take home my little boy! He also helped me out by giving me a vet coupon for a free wellness check to appease my apartment requirements! This helped a ton as I am a new grad nurse and moving out for the first time! Get your cage from him too! Great price for great quality! My baby hedgie is very happy with it and so am I!! The vet also said my little boy looks great and Very healthy! Thanks, Dave!

Dave and his wife are super nice folks! We picked up our baby girl today and I am absolutely in love with her! He literally has them down to an art all the way to everything you will need for your baby! I will definitely send folks their way! If you ever considered getting a hedgie- THIS IS THE MAN TO SEE!!! Thank you Dave for our new bundle of joy! We’ll send pics along the way so you can she how well she is doing! Definitely worth the 3 hour drive to get her! ?
