(January 3, 2020, 7:34 pm)Very nice park/wildlife area. Beautiful views of the lake and the river. Good fishing along the dam. There is plenty of area to hike and a good deal of it is paved. There is a playground and a few areas with picnic tables. There is parking on top of the dam certain times of the day and parking just off Fall of Neuse with longer hours. You can also bike here and there is an education center as well. Very nice park area for the kids. You can also walk down under the dam to the river from here.

(June 29, 2018, 8:41 pm)Fantastic place to come to run, walk, hike, bring a family, picnic, and so much more. A small playground for the young children. Areas to access the lake, and then a trail through the woods to access the spillway at the bottom. Lots of people fish in this area, but I am not sure that I would. Combination of paved roads and towpaths through the woods that connect in to the Mountains to Sea Trail on a ground path to the west and picking up the Neuse River Trail (paved) to the east.
