When I started school here, I was absolutely terrified, considering I was taken out of homeschooling and being put into a 2nd grade classroom. I was greeted by a very kind teacher and made friends with some other really cool kids. In 3rd grade I had one of the absolute best of the best teachers. The kids in that class ended up growing really close to me. In 4th grade I had a nice teacher but she got pregnant and was replaced with a mediocre substitute. I can't say great things about my 5th grade experience. Only because in the middle of the year we got moved out of the trailers and into a different trailer-ish one room thing. They found mold in the trailers and had to completely revamp. Once that was done we moved into the trailers which had became very nice. But then my teacher who didn't like my friend group (idk why) became sort of emotionally unstable. It's whatever. All the specials teachers (art, dance, cool science, drama, music) were awesome except the music teacher. She just wasn't nice. The principal rocks and overall my expiereance was great! Highly recommended if it's on your plate for elementary school options.
We are finishing our sixth year at Douglas and have been impressed by the "small school feel" despite its large size. The administration encourages thinking and teaching outside the box and all five of my children are thriving.
Douglas is the best school I've ever bin too (the only) it is clean, full of incredible teachers that make learning fun for all kids the best is Mrs.Bugbee because she is Royal, polite, funny, smart, and crazy she my best friend (that's not sad) so that is why I give Douglas a thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍 and 5 stars (there is no star emojis)
I loved Douglas Elementary. My daughter had a great experience.
