Love coming here for walks, and it’s a great place to practice plant IDs! Nice variety of trails and never super crowded!
This location has a variety of different trails. Near the road where you park, there is a large open trail that leads to smaller trails in the woods as well as a shelter you could eat at. Additionally, there is a paved trail that walks adjacent to the asphalt road and meets up with a wooded trail further down. Very scenic and full of wildlife, as well as informational with the signs from NCSU about the area.
Beautiful hiking through the cedar forest. Make sure to keep track of how you came in as the paths aren't marked.
Great place to get away and find a good tree to set up a hammock
