Mean Green Products / Mean Green Mowers

My name is Michael Reed and I own a small, all electric lawn care company named Quiet Lawn. I have been in and out of the lawn care industry for almost 20 years and have used many brands and types of traditional gas equipment. A couple of years ago after selling my previous lawn business and relocating my family to the Myrtle Beach area, I came across Mean Green Products while making plans for my new endeavor here. My first thought was “a battery powered commercial mower???”. Who had ever heard of such a thing? The only battery powered mowers that I had heard of were the cheap residential push mowers that couldn’t cut through a paper bag that only lasted about 20 minutes per charge. I almost dismissed the idea based on that but instead decided to do a little more research about Mean Green Products. I started reading, watching videos, and trying to find as many reviews as I could. I even called several companies using Mean Green Products. After much research and to my surprise, I could only find good things and positive experiences from companies about MGP. I decided to pull the trigger and take a chance. Kris and everyone at MGP were extremely helpful during the buying and financing process and we bought the 48” Stalker and all of their handheld equipment.
That was one year ago and I have had lots of time to use my Mean Green equipment since. My experience thus far has been fantastic. We were able to grow to almost 60 regular residential customers our first season and regularly cut 10-15 lawns per day. The equipment held up great and performed every bit as good as the gas equipment I had used for years. There was almost no time spent on maintenance compared to gas equipment and we were able to focus more time on mowing and making money instead of oil changes, filling gas tanks, and changing belts and filters. No more headaches from smelling exhaust all day, no more ear protection, and no more customers or neighbors complaining about noise. Our SK-48 was an awesome mower and built like a tank. It had a ton of power going through grass up to 3 ft tall at times and it left a beautiful cut compared to the Wright Stander I had previously owned. Throughout the season, I only had one small part go out and MGP quickly overnighted the part and I was back up and running the next morning. All of the handheld equipment did great as well and is very well made. We definitely made the right choice.
Now we are going into our second season. We will be hiring our first employee this month and we will grow to over 100 clients this season and really put our MGP to the test. I feel confident knowing the quality of the equipment and the fantastic support I’ll get from the whole team at Mean Green. They have been nothing but helpful and extremely responsive to anything I’ve needed in the past. I look forward to doing business with them for many years to come. One of the blades on my mower stopped spinning on Tuesday. I called Zach and he helped me diagnose the problem. It's now Thursday afternoon, I have a new part, and the mower works great! From Florida to Ohio, thanks for the great service Zach!
