Alum Creek Dam

Great place to enjoy with family or alone

- Good walking trial from down of the dam to top of the dam and side of the dam
- Good view of sunrise and sunset
- Good place for jogging too
- Good place for family or office picnic
- Good place to grill and spend time with friends , family or office colleagues
- has a kids play area too
- parking maybe tougher in summer
- Winter is good too (wear your winter jackets , 🧥 gloves 🧤, head scarf🧣 ) to enjoy the walking view of lake and dam

This was a really neat place to visit. The only problem is it is not really accessible for handicap people like myself to see the top of the dam. I walk with two crutches. You have a choice to walk the trail over the top for over one mile or hike up 108 steps from the lower level. My wife hiked the 108 steps and took some pictures for me. The lower level is very nice to just sit and relax. The one dam spillway was being repaired. So you could not walk across the top of the dam due to repair work that was ongoing

It's such a beautiful place. 😍 the walk up the dam was the hard part for me, but later, all the pain just vanished. Got to enjoy an amazing sunset.

I took the trail from the beach parking lot to the paved walkway on the dam and the views are great. The trail and walkway are well maintained and an easy hike and walk.

Pretty cool place. The dam wasn't active (as of March 23, 2023), but was a cool place around the Columbus area to check out. Have a little play area for kids as well.
