Did the 2 mile REI River Trail. The trail is great. You can find it on All Trails to follow the trail loops. Lucky for us it had not rained in a while so the trails were dry and well marked. But I can see how they would be muddy and covered with rains and if the river would flow over. So keep that in mind. There is a lot of parking, bathrooms, play area for kids and ample picnic areas. There were a few fire pit areas that would be nice to use. Stopped to enjoy each overlook we came to. Those were a nice touch. Planning on returning in the season to do the longer 5 mile trail (4.9 miles). I recommend you check this out. We went on a Sunday around 11am and there weren’t many people there so it was really relaxing and nice. Our only sad part was all of the trash. The river overflows and deposits all of the trash (mostly plastic) all over the landscape. It was so sad and makes me want to being a trash bag with us the next time to pick up what we can reach.
One of my favorite parks in Central Ohio. Absolutely beautiful park. The trials that wind around the banks of the river are so peaceful. They have camp sites strewn all over the park that I have really wanted to try as well, just have to get the time.
A great space for so many activities! Hiking, running, playground, open spaces for games, etc. The paths and trails are well maintained. Clean restrooms as well. Would definitely visit again if in the area.
Great metro park, just south of Columbus. There are a lot of paths to take, fishing at the pond, a playground, archery, and even some camp sites. Just note for camping: they only allow camping on weekends and only during warm months...for some reason.
Always a good time here. The hikes are good and the playground is good for kids. The shelters are modern and would be great for hosting a party. I haven’t camped overnight but the sites are great and spread out.
