  We booked this cabin because of its easy access to the breathtaking trails of Hocking Hills. What we did not expect was to enjoy our time at the cabin just as much, if not more, than hiking! It is obvious that Shadyside is well taken care of. This is a cabin in the woods, but it did not smell like a dusty, stale, unused cabin. The cabin was spotless, smelled fresh, and the furniture was comfortable and cozy. We gladly used the firepit every night to roast marshmallows and hotdogs. The Adirondack chairs were put to great use for star gazing well into the night. The property has its own private trails to explore. The staff (Mr. John) was available for any questions that we had. He provided us with a park map and a welcome folder that was full of useful information for visitors. The kitchen was fully stocked with any kind of pot, pan, or dish you would need. The bathrooms were larger than expected and the beds were quite comfortable. I would not hesitate to recommend this cabin.

  Will be going out to the pinewood cabin for the second time soon. Great place to visit! Clean and well appointed! The people who own it are wonderful and pay attention to details.

  A few light bulbs were burned out and the downstairs mattress needs an upgrade but other than that, a very pleasant experience. Nice hot tub outside and a nice big tub inside. Nice kitchen adequately furnished with cookware, dishes and silverware. Lovely setting and a nice trail right outside!

  The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed for a great stay. The only drawback was that we were told there was a charcoal grill and there was not. Only the cabins with the hot tubs had them. We just put the shelf from the oven over the fire and cooked outside that way.. (A little trick our neighbor taught us) Lake logan is less than a 5 minute drive so this is a great location!!!

  We stayed at Shadyside Cabin for 3 days to celebrate our 6-year anniversary and my graduation from OSU. We've stayed at a number of cabins near Hocking Hills, and there are always pros and cons, but this one has been so far the best. A bit pricier than we usually rent, but well worth it. The cabin itself is absolutely beautiful, and although it was right off Wagner Rd., felt secluded. Very spacious w/large, fully functional kitchen (even a dishwasher!) and large bedrooms. The only complaint is that the beds seemed smaller than expected--they're supposed to be queen size, but they felt like something between a queen and twin. There were many lights, which I appreciate since I am legally blind, and sometimes these cabins are not lit well and hard for me to get around. The wi-fi was a bit spotty, but most cabins in the area don't have it at all, so it was nice to have it when it worked. I believe it was about a 10-minute drive from Cedar Falls, one of our favorite trails.
  
  The outside is awesome, with a huge covered deck that's perfect for meals and hanging out. The hot tub is on a lower deck, uncovered (love to look up at the stars while in there, and many cabins have covered hot tubs for some reason). The yard is big and surrounded by trees and woods, with the fire pit set away from the cabin. Wood provided under the tarp beneath the deck. We had a great weekend hanging out inside and outside the cabin and walking the trails. Definitely will be back!
