When I purchased a 1969 Corvette Coupe in 2009 I think that every "Bubba Mechanic" in Central Ohio had worked on her at one time or the other. Seeing an add for Ruth Restorations in "Cruisin' Times" magazine we drove our battered new love up to Grafton and met Bob and Craig Ruth. We had an immediate chemistry and a major resto-mod was planned since the original 427-ci-390 HP engine and 4-speed transmission had long disappeared and I wasn't interested in the time and money for an original restoration. "Woodstock" was restored from the frame up and included everything but the body and upholstery. Her 383 Stroker was, completely, rebuilt and the HM-400 automatic tranny was swapped out with a Tremec-TKO-500 5 speed (we found the original clutch pedal up under the floor carpet!). New wiring, Twin-fan radiator and LOTS of other small repairs made this former "semi-basket case" into a cool and smooth running beauty that has won "Best Corvette" at several shows as well as "Fan Favorite." What started as a business relationship has become a friendship and Bob and Craig have become the first Honorary Members of The Last Continent Corvette Club, the first and only car club on the continent of Antarctica and chartered at The South Pole. I cannot speak highly enough for the work done at Ruth Restorations and would encourage any Vette owner to make the drive to Grafton. They won't be disappointed!
