My experience with Dr. Davis, his staff, and St. Ann's hospital has been excellent throughout. I tore my distal bicep tendon. My GP ordered an MRI, and referred me to Dr. Davis. Long story, but MRI scheduling was taking forever. Meanwhile, I called Dr. Davis and his PA Jenna agreed that I needed to come in ASAP. (My research found it should be repaired quickly.)
Dr. Davis examined me on a Thursday, confirming the obvious full tear. He spent a lot of time with me, answering all my questions. I'm an engineer so I was looking for detail. He was happy to oblige, and even showed me a video of the repair procedure. He didn't pressure me into surgery, but told me that the success rate was very high (something I'd already found on my own), and that non-repair is an option, but would leave me with reduced strength and mobility. I'm no athlete, and in my late 50s, but I'm still pretty active. I chose surgical repair, and he asked, "How about tomorrow?"
I had the surgery that Friday at St. Ann's. I won't go into detail, but the whole process at the hospital was very professional and efficient, yet at the same time friendly and personal. Kind of a terrific surprise.
I was in a sling for a week, and then spent a few weeks slowly working on flexibility so my arm wouldn't seize up. At 8.5 weeks I just had what I hope is my last follow-up. If I didn't have the scar, I might not know I'd ever been injured. I've got full flexibility, and I'm curling 8 to 10 pound weights right now. I've still got another month to go of being careful, but then I should be able to start working on building back full strength.
I definitely recommend Dr. Davis and his PA Jenna very strongly, as well as his whole office staff!
Doctor Davis did a Bi-lateral Total Knees replacement. I am so pleased with the way everything went. He did both knees at the same time and did a fabulous job. By the end of six weeks I was pretty much able to get around without a walker or a cane. Its been ten weeks and I am back at work full time. Granted I have a desk Job and do some walking through out the day. Dr. Davis was up front and said take your Physical Therapy seriously and I did. I would whole heartily recommend Dr. Davis and his staff to anyone who is in need of a knee replacement. I can see why he is considered one of the top three orthopedic surgeons in Northwest Ohio! Thank you Doctor Davis!
