My dog loves Thatcher. It is laid out well, accessible, and offers plenty of space. I personally don't appreciate some of dog owners that bring more aggressive pups or follow poor practices like bringing toys in with possessive pooches. Otherwise, the vibe is generally good. If the rowdy dogs are inside there are plenty of options to walk the surrounding trails and sidewalks.
Great park, look out for doggy doo piles though, not all dog owners pickup after their dog(s). On clear days you can see Mt. Hood. There is a large field and a baseball diamond. There are dog play areas and a kid play area too. There are bathrooms also. You can also walk on a nice paved path around the park.
This park is a nice one and the grass is kept up. There’s a small winter area (see picture with the bark), a larger small dog area, and a big open area for the mixed doggos. Inside the large mixed dog area is agility equipment. I do see people bring their kiddos and they have something to play on too! There’s plenty of water available, trash cans/bag stations are provided and close enough to where you’re not having to walk outside the park or trek however long to a trash. There’s plenty of parking. There’s also a baseball field and nature trails right outside the dog areas. There aren’t really paths (paved or dirt), but the parking lot is paved, walk to the park is paved, and there’s the area under the gazebo thing that’s paved (James in the pic is lying on it).
I will note- I do find a lot of people at this particular location with intact dogs, more so than other parks we have been to.
James gives it the paws up!
Great dog park! It is rarely busy, always stocked with poop bags and, usually, water. They have a water faucet and bowls that can be refilled with water if needed. They have three separately fenced off dog areas. One for small dogs, one for large dogs, and a winter area that is open year round. We go here regularly and the dogs love it!
