As a practicing pelvic PT myself, my journey to wellness has been a very long route. After more than 4 years of unexplained infertility, a lifetime of painful periods with poor blood flow, painful intercourse, years of special diets, tests, herbs, acupuncture, and treatments by other specialized practitioners- I was still looking for answers. Nari is the one pelvic practitioner whose special gifts to bring together the anatomy I know and love with the spiritual connection I was missing from my body. Placing my body in Nari’s gifted hands; and coming to her at a time when I was seeking more than just an anatomy treatment, was the best thing I have ever done for myself. When struggling with pain or failure of your body to perform a task you know it should be able to perform, often a simple western physiologic approach to the body is not enough. Nari was able to connect with my body and provide me a message which brings together my spiritual and energetic needs with my physiologic needs.
Nari’s approach and hands are gentle, kind, and compassionate. She is able to connect the body and its elements exactly where and how it needs to be delivered in a meaningful way. My experience in her office was clean, organized, personalized, and timely. She was well prepared for me before my arrival; and her confidence, skillset, and ability to go deeper into the energetics and forces of life and balance and anatomy far surpass any experience I’ve encountered with any previous medical provider. As a practitioner myself, I have been on the table with dozens of hands on/in my body in courses all over this country. I can honestly write that Nari is worth the flight or whatever travel needed to get the answers you may be seeking. I can now move forward with her guidance on my fertility journey, confident that I am finally moving in the right direction. And for any woman or person struggling after many years and feelings of giving up hope after so many providers have no answers, Nari fills in that gap of “what has everyone been missing when assessing my body all this time?”. Nari is, first and foremost, a most talented healer. Her work is a perfect union of science and the ineffable. She has both an insanely detailed and technical understanding of the physical body and its mechanics and a deep reverence for, and understanding of, spirit and the integral role it plays in wellness. She listens without judgment, honors your individual experience of illness and holds space for you with gentle support and encouragement. Most importantly, she reminds us that it is natural for our bodies to be well and through energetic and physical alignment assists the body in rediscovering its balance. I came to Nari after nearly two years of feeling nothing but betrayal and frustration towards my own body. My life had become unrecognizable. Not only has working with Nari relieved much of my physical (and surprisingly mental) discomfort but she has most miraculously restored my faith in my body’s innate healing abilities. My Doctor was absolutely amazed with the progress I’ve made in only 3 short months of working with her. Nari's knowlege of nerves and her ability to get my body to finally heal is something I will be forever greatful. After seeing many physical therapists and hitting a point where I would be better for a few days then revert I was at a huge loss but kept my hopes up after finding out she not only treats but teaches as well I decided to see her. The PT I was seeing even told me she was amazing and that I should see her. I am very glad I did I don't even know how to put into words how happy I am.
I had trauma to my tailbone last October, it was the most excruciating pain I have ever felt. My doctor said it would heal within 2 months since there was no fracture. When the pain persisted beyond that, I knew I needed help. I found Nari in January and started my treatment right away. Nari has great bedside manner and is always upfront about what she can do to treat my condition. At first it didn't seem like our treatments had very big/immediate improvement on my pain, but Nari didn't give up and tried different things with me. This October I took a 5 hour flight to New York, and despite the uncomfortable plane seats, I did not have any coccyx pain. I am able to work and enjoy activities I like all thanks to Nari. I couldn't have been here without her.
First off, I had no idea pelvic physical therapy exsisted before my Docotor referred me to Nari at Portland Pelvic Therapy. I'm a long time endometriosis sufferer and have already had one surgery to remove what adhesions they could. At the time my doctor referred me, I was at the end of my rope. I had pain all the time, even while on an oral contraceptive(which most doctors will tell you is the solution to slowing the growth of endo). My Husband and I had tried to conceive our first child for several years up to this point and we were beyond hopeless that this could be possible for us. Especially since I was in so much pain. I trusted my gut and thought why not give pelvic PT a try; I literally had nothing to lose at this point.
Within 6 months of seeing Nari I am 90% pain free. I feel like I have my life back (those with chronic pain know what a big deal that is). My hope, as far as family planning, is also restored. I ask that for anyone suffering with any type of pelvic pain, please go see Nari. She is not only the most incredible person I've ever met, but the process does not hurt!
She is so professional and I have never felt more safe and valiadated by anyone else in the medical community so far. Bottom line, this works for me and she cares so much for her patients. There is life beyond cronic pelvic pain and constant pain medications! Please go and see for yourself.
