My wife's grandmother came here with a broken hip last year and is back walking again at the age of 97! So much thanks to all of the wonderful staff from the kitchen to administration, CNAs, nurses and therapists. She absolutely was entranced when she found out she could converse in her native French with the medical director. Hope there is never a need again but will call on Marquis if there ever is.

I fell and broke both hips in July of 2020. After the hospital I was transferred to Marysville in Beaverton. It was a nightmare. No air conditioning in 90 degree weather, aides who spoke little English and were poorly trained. Terrible food.
Then my husband got me transferred to Marquis in Newberg. I received such good care there from the majority of the staff. They were attentive, cheerful and caring. The only down side was the food. It was awful. Some dishes were unrecognizable. The management there was also very caring and available. These caregivers deserve recognition and better pay for a very difficult job.

If I were to describe Marquis Newberg in one word, it would be FAMILY. I worked as a CNA at Marquis for many years, but I clearly remember being welcomed in immediately when I started my work there by the staff and faculty; they wanted to truly know who I was as a person, what my interests were, how they could help me be a successful and comfortable employee, etc. Not only were the faculty so encouraging, but the residents stole my heart as well. They were friends with each other, and also wanted to be friends with me. I remember specifically one NOC shift I was working, one particular resident could not sleep. I was in her room talking to her and it felt like we had been best friends for a while! She was asking me about boys, school, and family, and we would laugh so hard tears begun to form. The connections I made during my time here are unforgettable, but I also appreciated how the residents are treated as individuals rather than patients; their rooms are cleaned very often, the hallways are neat and clear, and do not even get me started on the AMAZING food! Check out Marquis Rehab in Newberg . . . you will not regret it.

My grandmother came here for therapies after a fall at home. She had an amazing experience, and built close bonds with several of the staff. She discharged to a facility closer to home for long term care, and that was not what we expected after having such a great experience at Marquis Newberg. We reached back to Marquis Newberg, and their administrator helped us get my grandma back to Marquis Newberg for long term care. My grandma is happy, she loves the staff, and she receives care from people who exude integrity routinely.

We spent 6 months at Newberg Marquis. I can say that I would not hesistate to send my mom or any other family member there again. It is institutionalized care so it’s never going to be perfect, but it was as good as it could be. The Nurses and assistants were caring and knowledgeable. In fact, some even shed a tear when my mom left, they had grown to care for her so much. After being home for 4 months we went back for outpatient care and everyone was coming to say hello and give her hugs.

Our room was cleaned daily, the facility was clean and well taken care of. We didn’t have the food, but it smelled good as we walked by.

The PT/OT staff are Phenomenal. They have just the right amount of caring VS Toughlove to get the patient moving and literally living again.

I never give five stars because I think there’s always room for improvement, but Marquis Newberg is definitely 4 1/2 stars in my book.
