Amandine is such an amazing doula. We hired her for postpartum help after what was a really rough first couple of weeks for us. She helped us get sleep and start to feel more confident as new parents, which made those early days so much better.
She is so knowledgeable and whenever my son experienced sleep changes or discomfort she helped us Identify what could be causing it and made recommendations. She loved our son like he was family, and for that we are so very grateful. She truly is a remarkable doula and I see her as a true friend, as she helped me through so many hurdles in early motherhood. I would highly recommend her to any new parents out there who need support! Her help is invaluable!
Where to start with how WONDERFUL Amandine is as a doula and advocate for her clients? There are too many ways to count! Without Amandine, I truly believe I would have needed more interventions and my husband would have not had the support he needed for one of the biggest days of our lives. We also used the postpartum support and could not recommend this aspect of Amandine's offering enough. It gave me sleep and support from somebody that helped bring my son into the world. If I could recommend Amandine to every expecting family, I would! She is simply the best of the BEST.
I met up with Amandine the week after meeting a doula that made me feel so uncomfortable and awkward, but as soon as I met Amandine, I knew immediately that she was the one I wanted to support me through my labor. My family had no idea what a doula's job was, and they were a little uneasy about having a doula in addition to a midwife. However, they were blown away by how amazingly supportive and helpful Amandine was during my stressful time at the hospital. She explained all of the medical terms the providers would come in and talk about, and she explained options to my family and made sure we were educated and supported throughout the process. She helps to make a space feel safe and cozy, perfect for labor, and she does all she can to stick to your birth plan, and will advocate for you if you are unable to. The thing I loved the most was getting to receive a timeline of all of the events that transpired during my labor -- all of the things I had either forgotten or never even knew happened. If we are ever blessed with another baby, I won't be able to labor without Amandine by my side again!
I took Amandine’s Aquanatal classes and absolutely loved them! Highly recommend!
I had some restrictions earlier in my pregnancy that did not allow me to be as active as I had wished. When our community pool closed for the winter, I craved getting back into the water to float and feel weightless. I saw the Aquanatal classes advertised and thought it sounded like a perfect fit!
The classes had a good mix of aerobic activity, L&D information, and stress relief. I looked forward to them each week. I even used tips and techniques she gave during my baby’s delivery - huge help!
Amandine has a great personality, is very knowledgeable and has a kind, soothing nature. I encourage you to try her classes!
Having Amandine before and during labor and delivery was so helpful. We also had her for postpartum services. Before my due date, I would periodically meet with her, and she was always able to share helpful pregnancy advice. She also gave us a crash course in what to expect for L&D. She also gives great prenatal massages! Once I went into labor, I was in constant contact with her that day up until we were ready for her to come and meet us at the hospital. I ended up having a complicated and scary delivery. Everything worked out luckily in the end. Amandine was there every step of the way to lend a hand and comfort us during the process. She also is great at helping you relax and breathe and a great coach during the pushing stage. Having a doula as an extra partner in the process really helped my husband focus on me and the process too, as having her there took a lot of stress off him. For postpartum services, she was available once we were all at home to help both during the daytime and at night. This is super helpful when you are trying to recover and just need that extra nap and extra set of hands to help with laundry, dishes, small errands, etc. She also is so gentle and experienced with babies. I highly recommend Amandine if you are looking for a birthing and/or postpartum doula!
