It has something for everyone. If you want a nature trail weaving into the woods it's here. If you want only prairie type trail it's here. If you want to be pampered with asphalt it's here too. The visitor center is nice and clean, and don't forget the information center accompanied by a kind person behind the counter with a smile. I went on the 3ish mile loop trail no complaints. Just take solid shoes for the off trails and watch your footing. :)
Docents were knowledgeable and informative. Maps and displays for getting a good lesson in history of the area.
Download the app (nps.gov?) It will help you navigate the site. Great trails and a compelling story.
Informational and interesting history lesson of the park. Our kids enjoyed walking through; a good selection of exhibits for all ages.
The NPS did a good job of delivering the facts of the battle without actually choosing sides. It was clear the Union won the war but there was no conclusion in the exhibit of who won the battle; it was a good way to keep visitors mindful that this is a memorial of all soldiers not just Union or Confederate.
Easy access from the interstate. Clean restrooms, and friendly staff.
