(December 16, 2020, 12:35 pm)I am new to TN in general and new to Portland especially. I accompanied a friend to their doctor appt at Portland Family Care. Now I had already read the reviews online and I was a little apprehensive to say the least. We walked in and were greeted by a pleasant receptionist who helped my friend get checked in. My friend was taken back to be seen as I waited in the lobby and I am really happy I did wait there. While waiting an elderly gentleman came in to be seen and had concerns about his lack of insurance and not being able to afford his medicine. The receptionist had the office manager come speak to him and LET ME TELL YOU.... I have never seen the level of commitment to patients and the kindness she showed this man. Once speaking to him he was in tears with appreciation. She stopped and helped him fill out necessary paperwork to apply for insurance and his medications. 2020 has not been the easiest year for some and what she did made me remember there are still good, kind hearted, caring people in this world.
My friend was highly satisfied with her visit too. Mr. Tidwell is quite unique but in an unexpected delightful way. He did not waste time and gave it to them straight along with the medication needed to solve the problem. The nursing staff was great as well. I would definitely recommend Portland Family Care. I was an outsider looking in today and always try to remember when reading reviews on places I plan to visit that there are always two sides to every story.
