  This food was delicious!! I had the Kung Pao chicken, and egg foo young..The staff and service was great,fast and friendly.. Just don't be fooled by the outside of the restaurant, It is very old, and out dated .. but the food is reasonably priced and good 👍..

  Went and had an early lunch. Restaurant was very clean and organized. Service was superior and food was hot and made to order. I had the egg drop soup as well as a half order of crab rangoon. Both were tasty and very freshly made. I ordered General Tso chicken and fried rice. Both were splendid in taste and presentation. I was more impressed by the customer service and friendliness of the staff. Come to find out that both gentlemen working were not brothers but father and son. Such a delight to see great teamwork and respect for one another and their guests. Will definitely be returning to try other items on menu. Highly recommend this establishment and it’s superior quality of food.

  Did you know that the good ol’ Silver Star Cafe has been servin’ up good ol’ Chinese treats ‘n’ eats in a funny little corner of a funny little midcentury strip mall on good ol’ South Flores since 1965 - that’s 57 years(!) - and that I’d never even heard of ‘em before today(!)?
  
  Well, they have - and I hadn’t!
  
  But let me tell you, that’s not the case anymore - that changes TONIGHT.
  
  And now the good ol’ Silver Star is one of our very favorite new (old) eateries in all of good ol’ San Antone!
  
  Ya know, there ain’t a whole heck of a lot of these funny ol’ (and) family owned and operated) 1960s Chinese restaurants in funny ol’ 1960s strip malls (where everything (including the food) still looks exactly the same as it did back in 1965) left - so you know, it’s really important that we all try and support these wonderful little time-tunnel legacy business eateries before they all disappear into another dimension for good.
