(January 13, 2019, 12:03 pm)One of my favorite NWRs! Lots of birds, alligators, and other wildlife. Great auto tour too - be sure to pick up a CD at the front for audio. Bring bug spray!

(December 28, 2018, 2:41 pm)A very nice refuge, well maintained by a number of dedicated volunteers! You'll ALWAYS see something interesting! Arrive right at sunrise. We saw a bittern, white-tailed kite and tons of ducks... the clouds of gulls went on forever!

(October 14, 2018, 10:23 am)Love this place. You can walk some & drive the rest. Be sure to visit in the am or pm not mid-day when it is too hot for wildlife. Very nice & informative range to allow us to see it all with no mistakes in directions.
