I can’t begin to describe what a difference Staci made for me and my baby boy in our breastfeeding journey! I exclusively breastfed for three months before trying to introduce bottles to go back to work. After weeks of no success, my boy was losing naptime sleep, unhappy, and constantly refusing bottles angrily while we tried. I had to postpone going back to work and finding conflicting advice everywhere. People had so many interpretations of his behavior and several people were making me doubt whether we could continue breastfeeding and I was becoming so hopeless about being able to go back to work and keep my baby happy at the same time.
I found Staci through a recommendation from a fellow La Leche League member. She was patient, asked many questions, listened to all my stories and provided detailed steps for a plan to introduce straw drinking as an alternative. She was also the first person to check him for oral ties, even though we had seen so many nurses and a lactation consultant at the hospital during delivery. Since he breastfed and gained weight, everyone assumed he had none and I didn’t know any better! Turns out, he had both a lip and tongue tie. After a few weeks of working on straw drinking, we weren’t at a place to be able to replace a nursing feed, so Staci referred us to a pediatric dentist where we got his ties released. After two weeks of recovery, he now can drink from a straw! It took only a few days and he loves it! He’s so proud of himself too when he can drink! We’ve have great success with purées and will be transitioning to breastmilk this week.
Staci has given me faith in our breastfeeding future, confidence that I can go back to work, and most importantly, a happy baby who can enjoy learning new things rather than struggle to eat. I’m so grateful to Staci. My super enthusiastic eater makes me smile every day right now, and I’m just so thankful we can put those days of stress and bottles behind us. Thank you for giving us solutions, Staci! If you’re reading this and you are considering going to Speech Nest for a feeding difficulty, I encourage you to check it out! 100%!

Staci is the best speech therapist you will ever find. She completely transformed my son in a short period of time, and she was able to fix all of his issues. She was able to do what other therapists could not. Not only is she incredible at what she does, she is also very loved by my son. He always looked forward to seeing her, and he always left the appointments happier and more confident. We will greatly miss seeing her!

All the praise and recognition for Staci at The Speech Nest. As a first time mom navigating the world of “your child should be doing this” is overwhelming and hard; it’s easy to think your child’s speech is ‘normal’ due to the saying “every child develops differently” when, in fact, it’s not. After navigating the very big world of doctors and therapists for six months my wife and I stumbled across Staci from a Facebook recommendation. She was able to meet shortly after making initial contact, identify where my child needed improvement, diagnose him, and quickly determine a treatment plan that would help my son thrive. In a quick three months my child is meeting goals, blooming socially, and shocking friends and family with his improvement. His tantrums and meltdowns have immensely diminished and he’s able to talk to and understand his peers and adults on an age appropriate level. I have and will continue to recommend family, friends, and strangers alike to trust Staci to help their children flourish.
