This one is a hidden gem! The most wonderful tour I’ve had in a while. Staff are so very patient and passionate in teaching about the canyon gorge, you will learn alot! Hike is a bit intense in the summer sun, so bring your proper gear. But definitely a tour not to miss if you’re visiting Texas!
Highly recommend the long guided tour. It is an incredible experience for kids and adults alike. Our guide was John, and he did an amazing job at educating and entertaining the kids!
We took the 3 hour hike and it was amazing there is also a 90 min. hike but if you aren't experienced I truly recommend the lattet. The scenery was incredible the breeze was delightful and our guide was very knowledgable we learned about the dinosaurs that had passed through there got to see actual claw prints and some fossils we also learned the reason that the gorge is actually there what happened to the people who lived in the area and the steos that were taken for preservation. The hike started at 9 a.m. and we toured the Gorge from the top to the middle and then the bottom I highly recommend this scenic outing.
We had a great morning heading out for a tour of the Canyon Lake Gorge today. Anna was our guide, and John was our Docent. They were absolutely wonderful! We learned so much about the 2002 flood, as well as all that was uncovered when the flood tore apart millions of years of rock to create the gorge. There is so much to see and learn. It’s a beautiful tour, and I highly recommend making a reservation. We signed up for the 3 hour tour, but since we were the only members on this tour it went a bit faster than the time they allow. When booking, take in consideration the heat and your endurance level. There are two shaded areas for breaks, one with a bathroom. We enjoyed every fossil, waterfall, and dinosaur footprint!
I highly recommend taking the 3 hour tour. This allows you to walk on geologic formations from 110 million years ago to include see dinosaur tracks. The guides are excellent and very informative.
