Padre Island National Seashore

Best place ever for chillaxing R & R. If you're a new camper and want to explore the beach and camp at the seashore, this place is the best to go. Have a day or two to experience it with your family. A good place to disconnect from the busy life. Just the family. Have fun. We just drove here with our SUV and wasn't prepare for camping, and we're just curious about it and we love it. It's worth to drive from North to South. Also, bring your fishing rod. Will definitely come back in the future.

Drove down to big shell beach, it's beautiful the birds and pelicans, the sand dances as the wind blows. The waves gently brush up the soft sand. You definitely need 4 wheel drive past little shell beach. There is a lot of washed up trash and logs along the way it's sad. But it's still beautiful. It's super windy so you won't get those perfect photos. The wind and waves can be loud. The birds leave you alone while you eat. It's a nice place to go and just be. But anything else is almost impossible with the wind. The shells are about 1inch maybe 2inchs if you're lucky.

The shoreline is great. The beaches are relatively clean, there is on beach parking as well as parking lot parking. There are restrooms available, and a store. There is seating where the restrooms are. Great place for kids and dogs too. Never too busy, unless it's around spring break.

Wonderful place to visit.The land looks unspoiled, and the water is so warm..it feels like you're stepping into a bathtub.. to go in it cost $10.00, but we'll worth it.. I was told you can camp their, but you'd have to look up the info on that.. people are really friendly too... This is a place to go for the day with the whole family..even your dog..
