My shy and somewhat anxious daughter has already started to gain confidence. She's excited about attending school and loves sharing what she's learning. This has been the biggest blessing for her and I'm so glad she got the opportunity to attend.
Can't wait to attend Clarke's first Grandparent's Day (on her birthday, Monday, September 11th) at her new school!
This opportunity is by far, the best thing that has happened to our family in a long time. I watch parents, teachers, and staff go out of their way every single day to make this first year an incredible success.
My daughter is no longer bored by the standard cookie-cutter-practice-for-the-test-curriculum Texas is so fond of using. She comes home every day with new information and unbridled enthusiasm about what and how she is learning.
Watching her develop a sense of community and shared interest in the success of scholars in her class, as well as a keen sense of identity as a direct result of the Solar Six (socio-emotional goals) has been an absolute joy.
I cannot say enough about this school...
Attended 1st through 7th there in the 50's/60's. Lots of great memories and friendships. Food wasn't great though. They made this slimy green stuff and called it several different names: hamburgers, hot meat bun, etc. Loved the playground at the back. Went to Blue Bird meetings in the little white building. It was nice having a dedicated auditorium (not like today's cafetoriums), music class (learned a lot there), Christmas programs, Spring Festivals, carnivals on the black top (loved taking home the goldfish I'd won). Such an innocent time.
