  Old SOUL food.glad to see their remodeling the place, its been a long time coming. Foods still worth every dime and wait in line. We drive from Oklahoma with this place on our to do list its been a tradition since I was a kid. Love the feeling, atmosphere and memories.

  We've ate there several times & every time we're never disappointed. Everything taste great from the meats to the deserts. I always stop here when I'm in Dallas. Really wish they were closer but good thing there not. Sooo much food well worth the money.

  This review has been edited/altered after multiple recent visits.
  
  This place is perfect for family visits, but if you wanna Chow down some meals on your own, no one is judging.
  
  Don't question the prices until you get the food. You'll have leftovers if you're not one to eat much in the first place. You'll receive a bountiful amount of food for a great and suitable price. The food station was clean, and the dining area was as well. Again, the cashier had an attitude but I'm sure it wasn't because of us. The staff made sure we were set and provided us will refilled drinks (even though we could've gotten it ourselves). I ordered ribs, yams, corn cob, and green beans this visit with a side plate if extra yams.
  
  The previous review for 3/5 has been updated to 4/5 for various improvements since last visit. Keep doing a great job.

  I love this place. The food is absolutely tasty. Bring your appetite. The prices are reasonable based on how much they give you (lots and lots). The parking is horrible. The parking lot lot is filled with potholes. Sometimes you have to park next door especially on a Sunday. Be prepared to wait in long lines especially on Sundays that's their busiest day. Other than that the the food is excellent and customer service is good, friendly staff and family oriented atmosphere.

  If you want soul food at its best. This is the place to go. Generous portions of ribs, chicken, turkey (wings/legs), meatloaf, etc. and that's just the meats. Sides, delicious. You'll be able to take some food home because you probably won't be able to finish it all. I'll go as much as possible just to say I tried everything on the menu.
