Alebrijes Cafe

When you walk into Alebrijes Café you’re immediately greeted by the beautiful couple that owns Alebrijes. But it doesn’t feel like you’re being greeting into an establishment but into your Tia’s and Tio’s home. I immediately felt welcomed and at home, in a restaurant. I was greeted with hola hermosa, and preciosa and princessa, the care and love is very much felt. The menu is on the wall to your right and you’re able to look at the entire menu at once. I’ve been twice, and both times, I was greeted the same exact way and felt the same. The love you feel is absolutely expressed in the food as well. The first time I went for breakfast and had the heuvos rancheros, and it was absolutely delicious. The second time I went, I had the papas tacos and they were amazing. The food is beyond “good” or “great” or “full of flavor.” Yes, both dishes tasted amazing, but it was beyond just what I tasted. The experience I had brought me back to being a kid visiting my Abuelita, and as an adult now I see, she wasn’t just making me food, she was creating a dish made with love. While I couldn’t see how the food was being made, I felt it was made with the same care and love my Abuelita made her food for me those weekends when I visited her. Food just tastes different when it’s made from love. I cant just say the food was good, or great because it reached beyond what I tasted, but how I felt. The second time I went I invited my coworkers for lunch because I wanted to share the experience and they loved it just as much as I did. From beginning to end my experience was beyond anything I’ve ever experienced in Dallas, at a restaurant. It doesn’t even feel right calling it a restaurant. It feels like home. 20/10 recommend.

Really small place but the food is delicious the enpanadas are home made and delicious.
It's a family own spot so I love to support small businesses. The people here are super sweet and kind. Totally recommend

Awesome hole-in-the wall restaurant! We have become regulars. The customer service is amazing. The food is phenomenal and their freshly made bread and champurrado is delicious. Definitely worth trying it!

My husband and I decided to try a new restaurant. Their food is delicious! It tastes fresh and hand made. The owners are very polite and lovely. It wasn't just amazing customer service, they made me feel like I was part of them. I recommend this place and will be coming back to try more food.
