Southside Steaks and Cakes

Definitely a Dallas must-try and a hidden gem. It's tucked in the corner of a small shopping center in South Dallas and outside appearance is questionable to some. The food, ownership and customer service speaks volumes beyond it's appearance. Today I went with my daughter and I got the CHEESESTEAK & WINGS which proved to be a good deal and very filling. I did the Big Tex cheeseteak which lives up to its name and was very meaty, cheesy and full of excellent flavor. For wings it was THE KITCHEN SINK which were very saucy and crispy and let me tell you there were so many flavors to choose from but this was recommended and I understand why so when you go order the kitchen sink you will not regret it... Even the fries were something to write home about. My daughter got a quesadilla that she said was a 10/10... If your thinking about visiting this one then don't wait too long because when everyone finds out about how good the food is then wait times are going to be epic. One more piece of advice: GET THE KOOL AID YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!

I’ve been craving a good sub for a while now. Thanks to the TikTok Food Gods (Lol) this placed came up and I felt like I could literally taste the food thro the screen. I visited this place with my friend from Georgia who came to Dallas to visit me. Besides me being an private chef, I’m from East Baltimore ..so I know all about good carry out food especially when it comes to fried chicken subs and Chinese food. I wish I can give this place 20 stars that’s how great this establishment was. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and treated very well. The staff here were absolutely amazing. I don’t remember King name but he has a wonderful spirit at heart. He came out from the back, talked to us even sat down with us to help us choose from the menu. He was so polite and respectful. The cook Tiffany was just as sweet as him. They really made sure we enjoyed our food and was there to answer any questions we might of had. It felt like family. I can’t wait to return. Besides the service the food was amazing! This is the best sub I’ve had since moving to Dallas. Between me and you no sub spot in Philly messing with Steaks & Cakes 🤷🏾‍♀️. The subs here are so flavorful you don’t need any condiments on it. Go check them out !!

Great food. It's a wait for food but EVERYTHING comes out fresh. If you need some fair/carnival type of food then this is the place to go. My favorite is the Pre roll blunts. I had the chicken and waffles which was on point and my coworkers got the 8" chicken Philly fries and onion rings. The onion rings taste great and are a great size.

Have your State Fair craving a year round at This place! From the the soul vibes to the juicy food, this place has it all! It will sure please anyone's pallet at any age. You have to get to know the owner and his family, they are a one of kind. You can feel the heart and soul of this place! Nobody can touch what they got going on.

Amazing food, everything is made right when you order. Home cooking comfort food at its finest everything is amazing and they serve kool-aid as a beverage, reminds me of my childhood. Yum!
