Just finished an amazing intro encaustic painting class at The Encaustic Center. I had sooo much fun. The class instruction by Deanna was great. She answered all my annoying technical questions and brought out sample artwork to fully address them. The Center provided more than enough supplies for the 6 hour class... If i'd lived closer, I'd be there once a week to do their open studios.

Fantastic workshop with so many techniques and so much information covered. I could have played in the studio for days. Deanna was very knowledgeable and patient and answered all our myriad questions clearly. This class made me want to go home and buy a whole home encaustic set up. Would recommend to anyone!

My friend and I travel 1000 miles round trip at least twice a year to The Encaustic Center and the associated Bonny Studio for art instruction. We have never been even mildly disappointed. Bonny has phenomenal relationships with many of the finest instructors from around the country, as well as the greater Dallas area. With a laid-back vibe, this studio does not intimidate, despite its top-drawer instructors. Check out her website for updates on upcoming offerings.

If you are even vaguely interested or curious about encaustic painting (pigmented bees wax), this is the place to be. Bonny is great, and she has a top flight staff of instructors. Their classes are very comprehensive and affordable. And Bonny stocks and sells encaustic tools and supplies at very competitive prices. They often have guest artists in from around the country, and they host shows for local artists. Get on their mailing list to keep up with offers and events. Lots of good stuff going on here!
