Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q

Been to 7 different locations and Rudy’s always hits the spot. Its not the best bbq place in Texas but it is consistent and always fresh. Good flavor and good texture. Never dry

Had no clue what this place was from the highway and was hoping for a novelty store when I stopped. However, pretty much just a BBQ joint. Which well, nothing wrong with that either. Pay by the pound concept and the staff were INCREDIBLY helpful as I was a virgin. They even offered me samples of their best sellers in the protein department!

Actually, the customer service and atmosphere was better than the food. It was good, just not fantastic. The lean brisket was way too dry and the moist a bit fatty. Even though it did not look appetizing, the sausage was excellent. I would go back for the sausage but not the brisket.

Kinda fun to eat right off wax paper and help yourself to their pickle and onion bar. Plenty of sauces to sample with as well. And the bread comes portioned out in bags!

All in all, the price was excellent as well.
