I have been a patient of DFW Neuropothy since being diagnosed with diabetes about four months ago. I was blessed to find Dr. Alavi shortly after my diagnosis. Upon meeting Dr. Alavi, he has not only helped me with my neuropothy, allowing me to sleep at night, but I followed the Dr. Alavi diet, got back in the gym, lost the 10 pounds he recommended, and with his help, completely got off the twice a day Metformin and gabupentin I was prescribed. I slowly have lessened my insulin down to about 8 units per day, as needed.

This past week, my husband and I went skiing in Colorado. We had nit skiied in 15 years. I had friends our age tell me maybe I should stay in the lodge. They did not want me to come back with a broken leg! I get it! After all, I am 65 years old.

The next day, we were at Seven Falls, in Colorado Springs. It was breathtaking....however to reach the top of the Falls, it requires going up these very steep steps. I made it my personal challenge to climb to what I thought was the top...only to get up there and see that the stairs turn and the sign said, "Congratulations! You are halfway to the top!" So..... instead of going back down, I went the rest of the way....258 steps up....then back down!

Then I tested my blood sugar which has gone from an A1C of 12 to 7.3 in three months. I had just eaten lunch an hour prior and my blood sugar was 72! That is from following Dr. Alavi's advice.

My primary care doctor told me I now have my diabetes under control and to keep doing what I am doing.

My neuropothy is improving and after talking to dozens of patients in the waiting room, I know it will soon be completely gone! The stories I have heard are incredible and EVERY PATIENT GETS BETTER!
