Dr. Tariq is a nice main and a good doctor. I had a couple of injections with him. All went smoothly although my condition was not completely resolved. I ended up going to a pain management program at a local university that was more appropriate for my needs.
My only issues with this practice is that the office manager (who I believe is no longer there) kept asking me for a "copay" at every visit even though I had met my out-of-pocket max. There should be no copay in that circumstance and she should have checked to verify that I had met the out of pocket max before asking for a copay. Apparently, she had not. It's not that I couldn't pay the copay, which was like $30, it was that I wasn't sure I would see that money again.
The other issue is that I don't think Dr. Tariq thought he could help me at some point. So he suggested I try buying a medical device instead of having another shot, etc. with him. He also told me that this would save me money. I did purchase the device but it wasn't helpful for me, and even though I appreciated that he wanted to save me money, I thought he should have left that decision up to me. (Actually, with my insurance, it was more expensive to buy the device than it was to have the shot done.) Reading between the lines today, I think the doctor did not think he could help me, and maybe by suggesting the device over the injection he was trying communicate that in a tactful way.
