Smokin' Joe's Tex-Mex Kitchen

On a brief trip to NB I stopped through here and got a handful of items for a group. Once i got to our meetup we tore into everything that i had ordered. Nothing was left over, everything was excellent. The top honors go to the spicy brisket nachos though, they were just amazing. The birra tacos took a close second, but dang…. If you happen to be anywhere near here I would strongly recommend checking them out!!

I really enjoy the brisket street tacos from here. If you want some amazing brisket street tacos, check this place out! Call ahead and order before you go so it’ll be ready when you arrive, as they make everything fresh.

If you’re in New Braunfels and have never visited a Smokin’ Joe’s anywhere else, this is an absolute must-have.

The Notorious P.I.G., Birria, and Brisket and Egg breakfast tacos (not pictured) are incredible. They’re worth a routine visit or an occasional visit or a first time visit alone - in other words it’s worth the trip to this part of New Braunfels. Select Stop has a winner here and I hope Smokin’ Joe’s remains a vendor here.

The Notorious P.I.G. has everything: pork, brisket and sausage. The bun is absolutely marvelous - cheddar jalapeño buns are oversized and the sandwich itself is a whole meal and then some for sure! I enjoyed this sandwich so much.

The Birria is indescribable. I cannot say I’ve had anything anywhere like this. The taste is a mix of incomprehensible heat from a spice I suppose! That’s one way to describe this, right? It’s just a unique flavor that’s difficult to pin down. Yes I know the recipes have got to be out there. But I enjoy the mystery of this heat and flavor combo. You just have to try it for sure.

The breakfast tacos are on another level. That’s all I have to say about that.
