I had a very custom building that most other building companies refused. After a short conversation the sales team assured me my project was completely feasible and they would love to take it on. The whole team has been very helpful and accommodating even answering questions that I found were available in their very detailed erection manual. The building details were simple to follow and the parts were easy to handle and manipulate. I definitely recommend ICON Building Systems for any project. Their knowledge seems limitless.

I bought an ICON building (40’x44’x16’) in May 2012 and in July my contractor erected & finished it in 2.5 days on a pre-poured concrete slab. Overall the build went up without a problem, all dimensions fit the slab anchors and it went together without any needed modifications. The contractor was very happy with the drawings and the quality of the material. In my area the biggest obstacle is that I have to deal with the City of Houston permitting department. But working with ICON and their Engineering drawings was no problem at all as they are an approved vendor in the City of Houston.
Now – almost five years after we build it I must say that I am still a very happy customer. Just last weekend my neighbor commented on how well the “red barn color” has been holding up. He said this color is typically the worst to fade over time.
I fully recommend ICON and would buy again if I ever have to build another metal building.

I put my initial quote out to six metal building companies. I had to wade through the sea of car salesmen trying to sell me "overruns and special deals, but only if I act today!" So painful. Anyway, narrowed it down to three reputable companies with representatives that weren't idiots. Then I got into the details. I really did my homework on this, as I've been dreaming of building this shop for 20 years. I compared design attributes, methods of manufacturing for the red iron and panels, references, finishes, warranty, codes & wind/snow/weight loads, everything I could find to make an apples-to-apples comparison. I found 100 different ways that a building company can cut corners to save a buck if they want to. Once I had it narrowed to two companies (Icon being one), I sent each company the other's quote and asked for comparisons. Icon's really stood out here. My rep obviously put a lot of thought and work into this. I asked so many questions that they should get an award just for putting up with me. When I pointed out one aspect (just one!) that I liked better about the other company's quote, the president of Icon Building Systems called me and offered to add that feature to my quote. That sealed the deal. This company just clearly wanted the business and was willing to go above and beyond to get it. I placed my order for a 30'x60' building with 18' eaves. Everything after that went as they said it would or better. My plans showed up early. My building showed up early. My insulation showed up early. My building went up without a hitch. Materials are stout and welds look great. Fit and finish are above my expectations. Holes lined up on welded plates and brackets perfectly. Documentation and labeling was excellent. The customer service was excellent as well all the way through the process. When my foundation engineer needed electronic copies of the building docs, the folks at Icon made it happen the same day. On my panels I used more fasteners than what was recommended and I still had leftover screws. One of the building inspectors commented that it was the nicest metal building project he had ever watched go up. Overall, a really great experience.

For those interested in a metal building,

In June of 2012 my wife and I were looking for a building in which to store hay and house haying equipment. After investigating several metal building suppliers we found ICON on the web. They first listened to our needs and then provided suggestions on how their products would meet our needs. Once we settled on a structure their engineers designed it to handle the wind and snow loads that characterize our Colorado weather. ICON then provided us an excellent price for very high quality material that they delivered on time. Over several phone calls they assisted us with several on-site challenges not evident before the actual erection of the structure took place. Finally they called us after the building was erected to make sure we were completely satisfied with our purchase.
