  This is a beautiful huge park with lots of plants, flowers and historic statues believe me when I say that will learn a lot about history, or at least recall what your teachers told you in school time. ....you will also have the opportunity to meet people from other parts of the world that are visiting as well

  Wow! They really did a great job renovating this space. It is beautiful and such a nice area to walk around in or sit on the courtyard green space and relax. Very nice surprise coming here. I highly recommend taking a stroll through the herb garden also.

  The structure built in the middle of the garden is absolutely beautiful. You can walk all the way up and have a good view of the city. There is a little garden by the side where they grow herbs and fruits and vegetables and it's just fun. I have no idea what they do with all that food. Do they even harvest them? Anyways, this is a fun place to visit in Houston.

  Beautiful gardens! Always a nice stroll. Close and free parking. While you're here visit the Japanese Gardens, Miller Outdoor Theatre, and Hermann Park. Great way to spend an afternoon with the family.

  One of my favorite places in Houston. My whole family enjoys it. You can have a picnic, lay on the grass and take a nap, or just walk around to admire all the different plants and small creatures that live there. My favorite area is the family garden because it is a great learning experience for the kids. They also offer Children's Story Hour every Friday at 10 am.

McGovern Centennial Gardens | Hermann Park Conservancy

The McGovern Centennial Gardens hours change seasonally. The Gardens stay open later during the summer months between Memorial Day and Labor Day and close earlier during the shorter winter months. The Gardens are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas day.
