  Before my mother was transferred here from KW Medical Center, I read the reviews on this site. I was filled with anxiety and fear about her going there, but we had no other choice, since there were only a select group of places her insurance would pay for, and this place was the best of all the places and closest to home. Before she came here, my husband and I went for a tour one evening. The nurse who showed us around was patient with all our questions, listened to us intently, and made us feel like she was in no hurry for us to leave. From that, I felt more at ease, we both did. Then, when my mom was there, all of my anxieties and fears were laid to rest. The nurses were kind and attentive, she was well cared for and told me so all the time, and I saw the evidence of it. She really enjoyed the food there and ate well. There were times when she would get her food that it was cold, which is why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5. But, when we would go there, I saw nurses rubbing patients backs and talking to them, and once saw a nurse lean down and give a man a kiss on the cheek. True, this place is not the Cadillac of all nursing homes, but it is clean and the people who work there genuinely seemed like they were caring and professional. My mother was there for rehabilitation from a pelvic fracture. She stayed 3 weeks. She received physical therapy almost daily, with the exception of a couple of days. When she pressed the nurse call button, the nurses were there within minutes. When she first arrived, she was in a room alone in one of the beds. We realized after a few days the bed was not working properly, so they moved her to the other bed and fixed the broken one. I truly tried to find things wrong with this place, my radar was up, but I just couldn’t. The cold food a few times is all I could come up with. I hope my review will put people’s minds at ease who are faced with taking a loved one here. It really is a good facility.

  My sister stayed at this facility and her stay was wonderful! She was there for rehab after a fracture. The nurses that cared for her were great. She's home now and doing well. Thanks Deerbrook...keep up the good work.

  I have been working here for the last three months. I have worked at other facilities in the past, but none of them stand up next to this one! The staff here not only care for the residents but for each other as well. Real compassion and care are showing to the residents, which is rarely seen in this environment anymore.
  My Administrator is a class a professional! She rules her domain through Mutual respect and professionalism! All of the staff were friendly and do their jobs well.
  The building here is well kept and well-maintained. I am very happy to be working at Deerbrook skilled nursing!
