Viola & Agnes'

The food was so good I didn't have a chance to take a picture before I demolished it. There was a bit of a wait, we were the first to arrive at open, the chef was still at the fish market where he personally picks up fish DAILY. When we finally had a chance to order, our food came out fairly quickly. We both had the Cajun chicken and waffles. Chicken was cooked perfectly, fresh fruit and almonds in top of the entire dish, it was served with both regular syrup and a sweet chili syrup. The wait was definitely worth it. I WILL be back to try the catfish sandwich.

Right to the point…. I’m 62 and have had a lot of Cajun food from not only New Orleans but the whole State of Louisiana. I mean a lot. I’m hear to tell you right now that the meal (red beans and rice with cornbread) I had at Viola & Agnes’ was the single best Cajun dish I ever did eat. Ever. Matter of fact, everyone of the six of us in our group would tell you the same thing about their dish too. CAUTION: it takes a long long long time to get your meal. If you’re in a hurry, do not eat here. If you want perfectly made from scratch meals, you will not find better.
